1)

Turn on multi-standard (bottom) VCR, regular (top) VCR, and TV.

Make sure:

• TV is set to video;
• Top VCR is set to Line (between channels 99 and 2): use the remote control (Panasonic) to check that the input is set to line, not tuner (menu button on remote-set up VCR-input).
• Settings on Multi-standard (bottom) VCR are correct: (pull open panel if necessary)
• record speed - SP
• edit - off
• input - line 1
• TV system: NTSC, M-PAL

Choose NTSC button on multi-standard panel.

4)

Put original tape in multi-standard VCR;

Put blank tape in regular VCR.

5)

Press play on the multi-standard panel.

Press record and play simultaneously on the regular VCR.

When recording is finished, please turn off all machines. Please use the video rewinder to rewind tapes.

Choose PAL (or other desired format) button on multi-standard panel.

Put original tape in regular VCR.

Put blank tape in multi-standard VCR.

5)

Press play on the regular VCR.

Press record on the multi-standard panel.

When recording is finished, please turn off all machines. Please use the video rewinder to rewind tapes.

Videocassettes with safety tabs removed cannot be copied over unless you place scotch tape over the opening.

Turn on both VCRs and TV.

If troubleshooting, make sure settings are correct on bottom VCR: use the remote control (Panasonic) to check that the input is set to line, not tuner (menu button on remote-set up VCR-input).

Put original tape in bottom VCR.

Put blank tape in top VCR.

Press play on the bottom VCR.

Press record and play simultaneously on the top VCR.

4)

When recording is finished, please turn off all machines. Please use the video rewinder to rewind tapes.
