Maine State Historian Earle Shettleworth Jr. ’70 presented a pictorial history of the Waterville area based on his book, Waterville, which features historic postcards of the city and environs from 1900 to 1960, at the Waterville Opera House Aug. 28. * Summer Stories, a book of paintings by Maine artist Leslie Anderson ’71, along with short stories inspired by the paintings, will be published in November 2013 by Shanti Arts Publishing in Brunswick, Maine. * In September the East Bay Women in Business Roundtable presented Dale Marie Crooks Golden MacDonald ’76 with its inaugural Trailblazer Award, designed to honor Oakland, Calif.-area women in business. MacDonald is vice president of Torrey Pines Bank. * Rebecca Alex ’79 was featured in the San Mateo Daily Journal (Calif.) in August. An assistant professor of art at the College of San Mateo, she developed partnerships between the college and four arts organizations, allowing students opportunities to take part in professional art practices such as exhibitions and portfolio creation.
