March 2, 2013, in Southington, Conn., at 85. She earned a master’s degree at Central Connecticut Teachers College and taught second grade in Bristol, Conn., for 20 years. A longtime volunteer at the UConn Health Center and a member of Prospect United Methodist Church for 50 years, she enjoyed gardening and knitting. Predeceased by her husband, Robert, she is survived by three sons, two daughters, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
