Tanya Sheehan is Associate Professor of Art. Her research and teaching cuts across the fields of American and African American art history, the history of photography, and visual culture studies. Her forthcoming book on American photographic humor will explore the genre’s racial jokes and their transnational circulation.
Natalie Zelensky is Assistant Professor of Music. Her research explores the music of Russian exiles in New York and the diaspora as a force in mediating Russian-American culture and politics. In June 2013 she was a NEH Fellow at Columbia University’s Harriman Institute summer session entitled, “America’s Russian-Speaking Immigrants and Refugees: 20th-Century Migration and Memory.”
