Maine wants to replicate Colby Cares About Kids throughout the state

Since its beginnings in 2001, Colby Cares About Kids has expanded to involve some 400 students each year mentoring youths in surrounding towns. But more important than the breadth of the participation is the depth of the commitment and passion from college students and their young charges and their parents.

The success has prompted Maine’s governor to direct a $500,000 federal grant to try to replicate the CCAK model at other campuses throughout the state.
