Laura Seay, assistant professor of government, was named a regular contributor to the Washington Post‘s political science blog, the Monkey Cage. Seay studies African politics, conflict, and development, with a focus on central Africa. Her contributions will explain political science research on African development and conflict, and they will likely draw on research conducted with or by students.

The blog took its name from the H.L. Mencken quote. “Democracy is the art of running the circus from the monkey cage.” More on Seay at her website. Follow her on Twitter at @texasinafrica.
