Margaret McFadden (American studies), Colby’s Christian A. Johnson Associate Professor of Integrative Liberal Learning, will present research on American female comics at the 2014 annual meeting of the American Studies Association in Los Angeles, Nov. 6-9. McFadden’s presentation is titled Laughter and Performative Utopia in Gilda Radner’s Gilda Live! (1980).” Her talk will be part of a session she organized titled “The Politics of Comedy: Female Comedians and the Critical Power of Laughter.”
