Professor of History Paul Josephson published “Russian Rivers in Crisis,” a scholar research brief that examines the contributing factors—pollution, accidents, decay of infrastructure, and the government’s systematic response—responsible for the environmental crisis plaguing Russia’s rivers. Published on July 1, Josephson’s scholar research brief was developed as part of the Individual Advanced Research Opportunities (IARO) Program, an IREX program funded by the U.S. Department of State. Josephson was a 2013-14 Short-Term Travel Grants scholar.
