Christine Wamsley ’15, a German studies and biochemistry double major, was selected as a Young Ambassador by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the largest German support organization in the field of international academic cooperation. DAAD Young Ambassadors promote study in Germany at their home universities, and Wamsley is one of only 33 undergraduates in the United States to be honored this way.
Colby’s Office of Off-Campus Study nominated Wamsley this past spring in part because of her excellence at Colby both academically and in cocurricular areas. As important, however, was the fact that Wamsley has always been an advocate for the study of German and German studies at Colby and beyond, which makes her an ideal Young Ambassador.
