While on sabbatical Professor of History Paul Josephson is working on “Stalin’s Water Workers,” a history of Russian nature transformation projects, 1900-present.

In August Josephson lectured on “Russia: The State and Nature Transformation in 20th-Century Russia” at a conference in Rio de Janeiro for a BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) dialog on environmental history. On Sept. 26 in Potsdam, Germany, he spoke about “Putin’s Arctic Policy” at theĀ Alfred Wegener Institute.
