Rico Del Sesto ’97, assistant professor of chemistry at Dixie State University in St. George, Utah, will deliver a lecture titled “The Future of Science” Nov. 4 as part of the university’s “Dixie Forum: A Window on the World” series. Del Sesto will discuss developments that may surface in the fields of science, technology, and medicine in the next 10 to 20 years based on his nearly 20 years of experience conducting research in organic, material, and analytical chemistry. After earning his bachelor’s in chemistry from Colby and doctorate in chemistry from the University of Utah, Del Sesto worked as a scientist at the U.S. Air Force Academy and Los Alamos National Laboratory before joining the Dixie State faculty in 2012.
