The Department of Theater and Dance‘s production of Orlando received a special Merit Award from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (Region I) for Design/Performance “Moment” Ensemble Work and Collaborative Design/Performance Ensemble.

Orlando was developed and rehearsed as part of the courses Stagecraft I, Applied Performance/Production, and Advanced Topics in Design. Students in these courses served as designers, assistant directors, performers, and technicians on the ensemble-driven production.

The production was directed by Assistant Professor Todd Coulter with additional faculty mentorship from Adjunct Associate Professor James Thurston and further design and guidance from Costume Shop Manager Chris Nilles and Technical Director John Ervin.
