Arey Professor of Biosciences Herb Wilson published the second of three columns summarizing the results of the 115th National Audubon Christmas Bird Count, which took place between Dec. 14, 2014, and Jan. 5, 2015. This column covers bird counts at select sites in inland central Maine and Down East. According to Wilson, the Augusta and Waterville counts nearly overlap, and both counts had good diversity: 53 and 61 species in Augusta and Waterville, respectively.
