On Saturday, April 4, Professor of Art Véronique Plesch will give a guided tour at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the Colby Club of New York. “The Marvelous and the Convulsive: Surrealism in the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Collections” will explore the many facets of this 20th-century artistic movement. Plesch is currently teaching a new course that surveys surrealism from post-World War I Paris to its influence in continental Europe, Britain, and the Americas, as well as in popular culture today.
