The Colby Mud Meet, an annual woodsmen’s competition, featured nine coed teams from the northeastern United States and Canada who gathered on Mayflower Hill Saturday, April 11. It was the final local event of the season, with the end-of-season meet scheduled at Dartmouth later this month.

While meets can have a festival-like atmosphere, competition is tough. “We practice five days a week, we have a coach, we compete across New England, and it’s athletically intense,” commented Kate Fotos ’17.
