On April 18 Gibson Professor of History Elizabeth Leonard participated in an academic symposium titled “Causes Won and Lost: The End of the Civil War” at the University of Virginia. The symposium was presented by the Virginia Sesquicentennial of the American Civil War Commission.

Leonard was a panelist during several sessions, and videos of two—a question-and-answer segment and a panel titled “Confederate Surrender and Lincoln’s Assassination”—were recorded and archived online by C-Span3, American History Television. The videos are available here.
