Bartlett Professor of Anthropology Catherine Besteman will speak at the Lewiston, Maine, Public Library Tuesday, April 26, about her new book, Making Refuge: Somali Bantu Refugees and Lewiston, Maine. The library talk, at 6:30 p.m., will feature a conversation about the work with two leaders from the local Somali community, Muhidin Libah and Rilwan Osman. Besteman reconnected with some of the same Somali Bantu people in Lewiston that she had known in Somalia two decades earlier.
