An article by Associate Professor of Biology Lynn Hannum appears in the July issue of Trends in Immunology. Titled “Developing Immunologists: A Role for Undergraduate Education,” Hannum’s article stresses the importance of teaching immunology early. “When undergraduates combine an immune system literacy with their interests in fields such as economics, sociology, or environmental studies,” she writes, “the result is a growing number of practitioners and policy makers with profound appreciation of the efforts needed to meet the challenges of current health crises and the threat of newly emerging diseases.”
