A seven-minute story on downtown Waterville revitalization efforts—and Colby’s leading role in the effort—aired on WCSH (Channel 6) Jan. 4. Host Rob Caldwell spent time with President David A. Greene and Mayor Nick Isgro on Main Street discussing the progress to date as well as plans for the future. Caldwell says, “there’s never been anything quite like this in Maine.”
Colby and its partners, including city leaders, arts organizations, and, importantly, the Harold Alfond Foundation, are making great progress toward restoring vibrancy to the city’s historic Main Street, including the renovation of historic 173 Main Street, the construction of a hotel and student apartment complex, and new outside investment up and down the street.
More information on the downtown project is available online.
