Colby broke ground on its new mixed-use development in downtown Waterville May 3 and “about 100 Colby and city officials, as well as students, residents and economic development organizations, turned out for the groundbreaking at 150 Main St.,” MaineToday Media reported. The 100,000-sqaure-foot building, slated to open in 2018, will house community space, retail locations, and housing for 200 Colby students, faculty and staff. “This community has come together in a way that I have never seen in one shared goal we all have an interest in,” Mayor Nick Isgro said.
