In July 2017 Associate Professor of Art Tanya Sheehan will be a guest lecturer at the Terra Foundation’s summer program in Giverny, France. Founded in 2001 the Terra Summer Residency brings together doctoral scholars of American art and emerging artists worldwide for a nine-week residential program in the historic village of Giverny. Sheehan will share her new research on African-American modernist painting and public health discourse between the 1930s and 50s.
