Whipple-Coddington Professor of Geology Robert Gastaldo and Jiawen “June” Li ’16 coauthored a paper titled “A multidisciplinary approach to review the vertical and lateral facies relationships of the purported vertebrate-defined terrestrial Permian–Triassic boundary interval at Bethulie, Karoo Basin, South Africa” published Aug. 8 in Earth Science Reviews. The paper, Li’s second, peer-reviewed publication, was invited for a special issue devoted to the End-Permian extinction. The work is coauthored with Johann Neveling, Council for Geoscience, Pretoria, South Africa, and John W. Geissman, University of Texas, Dallas.
