Waterville community radio station WMHB-FM (89.7 FM) increased its transmitter strength to 110 watts on Saturday, July 15.

Colby Museum of Art Closed Fourth of July Weekend

The Colby College Museum of Art in Waterville will be closed Saturday, July 1, through Tuesday, July 4. Regular museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

Morton Brody Judicial Award Announced at Colby College

Colby College in Waterville, Maine, has announced the formation of The Honorable Morton A. Brody Distinguished Judicial Service Award in memory of the U.S. District Court judge for the State of Maine who passed away in March.

Free Concert by Al Corey’s Big Band July 9 at Colby

Al Corey's Big Band will perform a free outdoor concert at Colby College in Waterville on Sunday, July 9. The concert, which begins at 6 p.m., will be held at the Gould Music Shell adjacent to the Colby baseball field. The public is invited and is encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

Pianist di Bonaventura to Perform at Colby July 10

Acclaimed pianist Anthony di Bonaventura will perform in Lorimer Chapel at Colby College in Waterville on Monday, July 10. The 7:30 p.m. concert, featuring the works of Haydn, Rachmaninoff and Scarlatti, is open to the public. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for children and senior citizens. Proceeds from the concert will support the 22nd Annual Piano Institute at Colby Scholarship Fund.

Smithsonian’s “Modernism & Abstraction” on View

A traveling exhibit of American art masterpieces from the Smithsonian American Art Museum will be installed at the Colby College Museum of Art in Waterville, Maine, beginning Tuesday, August 1. Modernism & Abstraction: Treasures from the Smithsonian American Art Museum, will remain on view at Colby through October 30.
