Colby Collegium Musicum to Perform April 28 Colby College's Collegium Musicum will present its spring concert on Saturday, April 28, at 7:30 p.m. in Lorimer Chapel in Waterville. Directed by Eva Linfield, associate professor of music, the Colby Collegium Musicum specializes in music from the Middle Ages, Renaissance and early Baroque periods. The performance is open to the public and free of charge. The concert program will feature Italian composer Giacomo Carissimi's 17th-century oratorio Jephte, an Old Testament story set as a work for six-voice chorus, soloists and basso continuo. The program will also include two 16th-century double-chorus motets by Giovanni Gabrieli and a graceful sacred work for chorus, soloists and violins by French composer Marc-Antoine Charpentier. A 17th-century Italian trio sonata will complete the program. Collegium Musicum consists of Colby College students with several faculty and local musicians.
