WMHB Announces Food Drive/Music Give-Away, April 28

Central Maine's college and community radio station, WMHB-FM, will hold a food drive/music give-away on Saturday, April 28, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Messalonskee High School in Oakland. The food drive will be held in cooperation with the Mid-Maine Homeless Shelter's fourth annual Benefit Walk, also on April 28. Donations to the food drive will benefit the shelter and WMHB will broadcast live from the event.

Students and community members are asked to bring canned food to Messalonskee High School on the day of the food drive. In return WMHB will give away music CDs, records, posters, tapes, T-shirts and more. For every five cans of food donated, the donor may choose a give-away item. Items will be given away on a first-come-first-served basis, so donors are encouraged to arrive early.

WMHB is a college-community radio station that serves the central Maine area with a diverse blend of music including rock, rap, metal, jazz, blues, world beat, folk and country. It is a non-profit educational radio station, broadcasting at 89.7 FM, run jointly by Colby College students and local residents. WMHB broadcasts all of its music, sports and news programs live from its web site (www.colby.edu/wmhb) through a partnership with collegemusic.com.
