di Bonaventura Acclaimed pianist Anthony di Bonaventura will hold a recital at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, July 9, in Colby College's Lorimer Chapel on the Waterville campus. The performance is open to the public and will include works from Bach, Schubert, Granados and Liszt. Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for students or senior citizens. Proceeds from the concert will support the Piano Institute at Colby scholarship fund.

On Thursday, July 19, and Friday, July 20, Piano Institute participants will perform recitals at 7:30 p.m. both nights in Lorimer Chapel. Those programs are open to the public free of charge.

Di Bonaventura has performed in 27 countries and was featured in the Great Performances Series at New York's Lincoln Center. In May 1992, he was awarded the Metcalf Cup and Prize for Excellence, Boston University's highest award for excellence in teaching. Currently a professor of music and chair of the piano department at Boston University, di Bonaventura has received praise for his recordings, which include Fourteen Scarlatti Sonatas, Rachmaninoff's Preludes, Op. 32 and selected works of Chopin, all appearing on the Titanic label.

Di Bonaventura is the founder of the Piano Institute at Colby, a two-week workshop for pianists offering private lessons, master classes and guest lectures as well as the opportunity to perform in public recitals. Di Bonaventura has directed the Institute since it was established in 1979.
