Colby Scholarship Established for Jack Deering A scholarship fund in honor of the retirement of John W. Deering of Falmouth is being created at Colby College in Waterville. Deering, a member of Colby's Class of 1955, has served Colby as a trustee and member of many alumni, development, reunion and admissions committees. In 1968 he and his wife, Anne, both received the Colby Brick Award for service to the college. Deering also was named the C Club person of the year in 1962 and received the Marriner distinguished alumnus award in 1994. Deering formerly was vice president of investment at Paine Webber in Portland. Anyone wishing to contribute to the fund in Deering's honor should contact Kristina Lentz Judd at (207) 872-3611. |
