Colby Celebrates "Maine Women in the Visual Arts"
"Maine Women in the Visual Arts" is arranged in conjunction with the 16th Annual Maine Women's Studies Conference to be held at Colby November 3. The exhibit will feature works in a variety of media, including paintings, sculpture, fiber, book art, photographs, ceramics and printmaking, and it was organized by Bevin Engman, assistant professor of art. On Thursday, November 15, exhibiting artists Gail Spaien and Honour Mack will present the panel discussion "Sources of Inspiration: On the Colby College Museum of Art's Maine Women Artists Exhibition." The 4 p.m. lecture will be held in the museum. Spaien and Mack are faculty members of the Maine College of Art. Colby museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free, and the museum is accessible to persons with disabilities.
