Colby Celebrates "Maine Women in the Visual Arts"
The Colby College Museum of Art in Waterville will celebrate "Maine Women in the Visual Arts" with an exhibit of works by more than 50 Maine women artists. An artists reception will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, to open the exhibit. The exhibit will remain on view at the museum through December 28.
"Maine Women in the Visual Arts" is arranged in conjunction with the 16th Annual Maine Women's Studies Conference to be held at Colby November 3. The exhibit will feature works in a variety of media, including paintings, sculpture, fiber, book art, photographs, ceramics and printmaking, and it was organized by Bevin Engman, assistant professor of art.
On Thursday, November 15, exhibiting artists Gail Spaien and Honour Mack will present the panel discussion "Sources of Inspiration: On the Colby College Museum of Art's Maine Women Artists Exhibition."
