Goldfarb Lecture Series at Colby Discusses Terrorism

Two lectures at Colby in November will explore terrorism in the United States. Part of the Goldfarb Lecture Series, they are open to the public and free of charge. On Tuesday, November 6, L. Sandy Maisel, Colby's William R. Kenan Jr. Professor of Government, will present "Terrorism at Home: Challenges to U.S. Principles and Patience." The lecture will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Room 1 of the Olin Science Center.

On Tuesday, November 27, Ambassador Robert Gelbard will present "Terrorists Strike the U.S.: The View from Abroad." The lecture will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Page Commons Room of Cotter Union. Gelbard is a former U.S. ambassador to Indonesia and previously served as President Bill Clinton's special representative in Bosnia during the NATO bombing of Kosovo. He is also a member of Colby's Class of 1964.

The Goldfarb Lecture Series is sponsored by Colby's Department of Government through a gift from William Goldfarb '68. Every year a common theme for the three lectures is chosen by a committee of faculty members and students.
