WMHB Announces Week of Live In-Studio Music

Waterville's college and community radio station, WMHB-FM, will hold "Live Music Week" from Monday, November 12, through Saturday, November 17. A series of live in-studio concerts will be broadcast each night from 8 p.m. until midnight. Listeners can tune in to 89.7 FM or listen by webcast at www.colby.edu/wmhb. Each evening will feature a different musical genre with multiple group performances, including bands and artists from Rhode Island, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Maine.

  • Jazz night on Monday, November 12, will feature The Downtown Sound from Portsmouth, N.H., local jazz group TRILOGIC and the Eric Thomas Trio.

  • Rock night on Tuesday, November 13, will feature several New England rock bands, including Frotus Caper from Portland, Maine.

  • Blues night on Wednesday, November 14, includes Blind Albert and Secret Life, a quintet of Maine blues artists.

  • Hip-hop night on Thursday, November 15, will feature five bands and artists, including the Skitzofreniks from Cambridge, Mass.

  • Techno night on Friday, November 16, will feature WMHB’s own Chris Lewis (Lord DJC) along with Chris Schlosser (DJ Nordic), Rob Belcher (DJ Sport) and Zach Gazza (DJ Static).

  • Heavy metal night on Saturday, November 17, finishes the week with several bands, including featured performer 6gig, a metal rock band based in Portland, Maine.

WMHB is a college-community radio station that serves the greater Waterville area with a diverse blend of music including rock, rap, metal, jazz, blues, world beat, folk and country. It is a non-profit educational radio station broadcasting at 89.7 FM run jointly by Colby College students and local residents.
