Larry Hayden's Drawings Exhibited at Colby
Hayden's abstract paintings are in the collections of the Portland Museum of Art, Farnsworth Art Museum, Bates College Museum of Art and Colby College Museum of Art, as well as corporate and private collections. In 1990 Hayden progressed to drawing from models. For simplicity's sake his drawings are all the same size and are done with disposable mechanical pencils on parchment tracing paper. Hayden works from a model during short sittings that seldom last more than 30 minutes. The result is visually coherent and direct drawings presented to the viewer as unassuming offerings and unambiguous works. Colby museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free, and the museum is accessible to persons with disabilities. For information call 207-872-3228 or visit www.colby.edu/museum. |
