Ann Arbor Film Festival Tour at Colby April 10

The 40th annual Ann Arbor Film Festival Tour will be at Colby College in Waterville on Wednesday, April 10, from 7 to 11 p.m. in room 100 of the Lovejoy Building. The tour features 17 new works by independent filmmakers, including a selection of award-winning and highlighted films from this year's 2002 Ann Arbor Film Festival. The touring program currently is traveling around the country to more than 30 locations.

The Ann Arbor Film Festival is a non-profit arts organization that features the latest in 16mm independent and experimental film. The festival features films from across the country and around the world in every genre, including animation, experimental, documentary and narrative. Of 440 films submitted to the selection committee, 107 films were screened during the eight-day festival, which was held in Ann Arbor from March 10-17.

Founded in 1963 by filmmaker/artist George Manupelli at the University of Michigan School of Art, the Ann Arbor Film Festival is the oldest festival of its kind in the country. Now independent of the university and under the direction of Vicki Honeyman, the festival continues to honor independent filmmakers who demonstrate a high regard for film as an art form.
