David Burgess Plays Guitar Music of Brazil at Colby September 15 On Sunday, September 15, guitarist David Burgess will perform music from Brazil. The concert, part of the 2002-03 Music at Colby Concert Series, will be held at 3 p.m. in Given Auditorium of the Bixler Art and Music Center on the Waterville campus. It is open to the public and free of charge. The concert program will feature tango, bossa nova, jazz, classical and popular music by Brazilian composers, including Ernesto Nazareth, Joäo Pernambuco, Pixinguinha and Radame9;s Gnattali. Burgess was a student of the late Andre9;s Segovia, considered the father of the modern classical guitar movement. He also has won top honors in competitions around the world, including first prize in the Andre9;s Segovia Fellowship Competition.
