Colby Wind and Jazz Ensembles Present Fall Concerts The Colby Wind Ensemble and the Colby Jazz Ensemble both will present fall concerts of international music in November. On Saturday, November 2, the Colby Wind Ensemble will perform "Gender, Race and Perception: Fanfares for Common Men and Uncommon Women" at 7:30 p.m. in Lorimer Chapel. The concert program will include a variety of music exploring perceptions of Native American, Asian and African peoples. On Saturday, November 9, the Colby Jazz Ensemble will present "Hard Bop and Dancing Feet" at 7:30 p.m. in Lorimer Chapel. The concert program will include a mix of jazz, soul, funk and Latin influences. Eric Thomas, director of band activities, will direct both concerts, which are part of the 2002-03 Music at Colby concert series. Both events are free of charge.
