Pianist Pompa-Baldi to Perform at Colby, October 7 Pianist Antonio Pompa-Baldi will perform on Saturday, October 7, at Colby College in Waterville. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in Lorimer Chapel and is part of the 2000-01 Music at Colby concert series. It is open to the public and free of charge. Pompa-Baldis talents as a pianist have earned him recognition worldwide. He has performed since the age of 12 and has given recitals and concerto performances internationally, including in Italy, France and Germany. In 1999, Pompa-Baldi was the first-prize winner in the Cleveland International Piano Competition. A native of Foggia, Italy, Pompa-Baldi began to play the piano at the age of 4. In 1993, he graduated from the Conservatorio U. Giordano, and later continued his studies at the Academia Internazionale Aldo Ciccolini in Trinitapoli and also at the Academia Internazionale F.
