Computer Science Festival at Colby May 6 This year students in Colby College's computer science department have been working on projects in robotics, virtual worlds, interactive art, machine learning and bioinformatics. To show off some of this work, the department will hold a computer science festival from 3 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, on the fourth floor of Mudd Building on the Waterville campus. The festival is open to the public and refreshments will be served. During the festival students will demonstrate several programs, including simulated soccer teams, artificial life experiments and computer-mediated art. Other presentations and demonstrations include a text-based virtual world, simulated robotics and computational work with genetic and protein data. For more information visit www.cs.colby.edu/info/csfest2003. The event is part of the fourth annual Colby Undergraduate Research Symposium. |
