Buchanan Presents

This event has been cancelled until further notice.

Angela "Bay" Buchanan, president of the American Cause and chair of brother Pat's presidential campaigns, will present "The Failures of Feminism" on Thursday, September 18, at Colby College in Waterville. The lecture begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be in Room 01 of the F.W. Olin Science Center. It is open to the public and free of charge.

Buchanan is president of the American Cause, an educational foundation dedicated to advancing conservative issues, a three-time chair of her brother Pat's presidential campaigns and a political analyst for CNBC, MSNBC, Good Morning America and CNN's Inside Politics.

During the Reagan administration, Buchanan was treasurer of the United States at the age of 32, the youngest person ever to hold that position. She was chair of Reagan's Commission on Women Business Owners, co-chaired the California delegation to the Republican National Convention in 1988 and in 1990 ran for treasurer of the state of California. In 1996 Buchanan was recognized by George magazine as one of the top 20 most political women in the country.

Buchanan has a master's degree in mathematics from McGill University and has further studies at several universities, including the University of New South Wales in Australia. In 1981 she received an Honorary Doctor of Law Degree from Samford University in Birmingham, Ala.

The event is sponsored by Colby's Cultural Events Committee, the Colby Republicans and the Student Government Association, and the Young Americans Foundation.

Please note that the event date and location have been changed. The lecture will be held Thursday, September 18, at 7:30 p.m. in Room 01 of the F.W. Olin Science Center.
