Colby Theater and Dance Season Opens with
The Slices of Life Festival will feature original works by Colby seniors Breilyn Brantley (Cypress, Texas) and Michael Hepburn (Plymouth, Mass.) and a new work by Christopher Kloko, a national winner in last years Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival 10-Minute Playwrighting Competition. Other plays in the festival include rarely seen pieces from master playwrights Christopher Durang, Terrence McNally and Nina Shengold. Each of the 10-minute plays will be staged by different directors on the faculty of Colby's Department of Theater and Dance. Artistic Director John Ervin, technical director in Theater and Dance, envisioned the festival as a forum to increase the number of original works Colby stages and as a way to increase faculty-student collaboration. Admission is free and there will be no advance reservations. For additional information, call the box office at 207-872-3358 between 5 and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday of the performance week. Or call 207-872-3388 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. To learn more about upcoming productions, visit the Theater and Dance Web site at www.colby.edu/theater. |
