Colby Music Faculty to Perform September 27

On Saturday, September 27, members of Colby's music faculty will perform a concert of solo and ensemble works. The concert, part of the 2003-04 Music at Colby Concert Series, will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Given Auditorium of the Bixler Art and Music Center on the Waterville campus. It is open to the public and free of charge.

Carl Dimow will perform on guitar It's Not the Heat, It's the Humidor, an original composition, as well as Wave by Antonio Carlos Jobim. Sebastian Jerosch will perform on trombone Sonata for Trombone and Piano by Stepan Sulek and will be accompanied by Cheryl Tschanz on piano. Jordan Benissan will perform traditional West African music with the Sankofa African Music Ensemble. Mary Jo Carlsen will perform In Memoriam on violin, a piece for amplified violin and computer sounds composed by Associate Professor of Music Jon Hallstrom. Eric Thomas on clarinet will join Rick Bishop on bass guitar for a duet.
