Guild Trio to Perform October 26 at Colby

On Sunday, October 26, the Guild Trio will present a concert as part of the 2003-04 Music at Colby Concert Series. The performance will begin at 3 p.m. in Given Auditorium of the Bixler Art and Music Center on the Waterville campus. It is open to the public free of charge.

The Guild Trio's program will include Piano Trio by Rebecca Clarke, Piano Trio in B Major, Op. 8 by Brahms and Between Tides by Toru Takemitsu. Formed in 1988, the Guild Trio has become one of the premier ensembles of its generation, dedicated to the celebration of the standard piano trio repertoire, the commissioning of new works and the continuing exploration of music by female composers such as Clara Schumann, Amy Beach and others. The trio includes violinist Janet Orenstein, cellist Brooks Whitehouse and pianist Cheryl Tschanz. Tschanz is also an adjunct associate professor of music at Colby.
