Colby Symphony Orchestra Concert is November 1 On Saturday, November 1, the Colby Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Associate Professor of Music Jonathan Hallstrom, will perform its first concert of the fall season. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Colby's Lorimer Chapel on the Waterville campus. Part of the 2003-04 Music at Colby concert series, the event is open to the public and free of charge. The concert will feature flutist Barbara Siesel in a performance of Stephania de Kenessey's concerto Manned Flight. Siesel, an internationally known soloist and founder of the annual Storm King Music Festival in Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y., joins the Colby music faculty this fall as applied music associate in flute and principal flute with the Colby Symphony Orchestra. Also included in the concert program will be Mozart's Overture to Don Giovanni and Beethoven's Symphony No. 3 (The Eroica). Maine's largest college orchestra, the Colby Symphony Orchestra includes student, faculty and community musicians.
