Colby Wind Ensemble Explores Military Themes

In this time of war, the Wind Ensemble at Colby College will explore the military from a different perspective: musical treatments of military themes. The concert, part of the Music at Colby series, will be held on Saturday, November 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lorimer Chapel on the Waterville campus. It is free and the public is invited.

The ensemble, directed by Eric Thomas, tackles themes including war, remembrance, bravery and forgiveness. Selections will include: Tribute to Women in the Armed Forces; In Memoriam-Dresdan, Germany 1945; Morning Alleluias for the Winter Solstice (Hiroshima); Cartoon; March for the Spartakiade; Do Not Go Gentle Into that Good Night.
