Volunteer Rape Crisis Advocate Training

This is a free program run by Waterville Rape Crisis Assistance and Prevention to train new advocates for the organization's 24-hour confidential helpline and hospital accompaniment.

Screening of "The Weather Underground" with Bernardine Dohrn of Northwestern University
Room 1, Olin Science Center
Thirty years ago, fueled by outrage over racism and the Vietnam War, a group of young American radicals dubbed the "Weather Underground" bombed targets across the country that they considered emblematic of the violence imposed by the U.S. on the world. One member of the group, Bernardine Dohrn, will answer questions following screening of the Oscar-nominated film documenting the resistance.

Hailed by The New York Times for its "feverishly intricate rhythms," the Kotchegna Dance Company was founded by Vado Diomande in 1989 in his native C�f4;te d'Ivoire to promote Ivoirienne culture through chant, mime, dance, and music. Diomande's innovative choreography draws upon regional dance styles of C�f4;te d'Ivoire and features breathtaking stilt dancers, costumes, and pulsating drum rhythms that captivate audiences.

Martin Luther King Day - A Musical Celebration

Mickey Thomas Terry, a critically acclaimed concert organist, will perform a musical tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr. Terry has been broadcast on Public Radio International's "Pipe Dreams" and has performed at Washington's John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the National Cathedral, and the National Shrine. He will be accompanied by lyric soprano Winona Hunt Stanback, a three-season member of the Metropolitan Opera Chorus in Manhattan. She is currently a member of the Washington National Opera Chorus.

Irene, an impassioned fundamentalist, and Wallace, a half-trained agent for national security, run head to head in her darkened house. Is Irene’s prayer circle actually building a "weap of mass distruct"? If not, why has illegal alien Endo Butri a map to an obscure site in Iraq? Play written and directed by Dick Sewall.
Tickets: $2 with Colby I.D. and for seniors; $3 general admission. Box office open Monday through Saturday during the week of the performance from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
