Sunday, May 1, 6 p.m.
"Empty Bowls" Benefit for the Mid-Maine Homeless Shelter
Page Commons, Cotter Union
At this benefit dinner, attendees purchase a bowl -- made by a member of Colby's pottery club -- which they eat from and are able to take home. Campus groups will perform during dinner. Tickets are $10, $8 for students.

Colby Symphony Orchestra, The Colby College Chorale, and the Colby-Kennebec Choral Society Concert
Lorimer Chapel
The final concert of the season combines Colby's orchestra, chorale, and the Colby-Kennebec Choral Society for a performance of Franz Schubert's Mass in B-flat. Also featured will be the winner of the Music Department's annual Student Concerto Competition. The final work in the season's "Communist Connection" series will be Hanns Eisler's 1957 Sturm-Suite.

In these weekly, parliamentary-style debates, teams do not know the topic until ten minutes beforehand. Afterward the audience is invited to speak on the topic. A $25 prize is awarded for the best of those speeches.

"American Dreams" Documentary Film Festival

This documentary film festival will showcase the work of students with topics ranging from Maine lobstermen and bowling to the war in Iraq, paranormal activity, and the relationship of gays to the church.

The Player's Art: Guitar Exhibition
Vintage, rare, and handmade guitars with connections to Maine will be featured in this unique exhibit. Five live performances of various musical styles will occur in the museum galleries.
In the Permanent Collection
The Alex Katz Collection in the Paul J. Schupf Wing
Alex Katz is one of the most important American artists of our time, and his impressive body of work constitutes a unique aspect of modern Realism. Colby's collection now includes more than 600 works by Katz and related archival materials.
The John Marin Collection in the Lunder Wing
The John Marin Collection displays a retrospective collection of paintings, watercolors, drawings, etchings and photographs. These works are the only retrospective collection of the artist's work in an academic museum in the country.
The Lunder Wing
The Lunder Wing is a two-story building housing works from the museum's permanent collection of American art from the 1800s through the early 20th century.
The Colby College Museum of Art is open 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free, and the museum is accessible to people with disabilities. For more information call 872-3228 or visit http:www.colby.edu/museum/.
