Colby Presents "Burst the Bubble, Build a Bridge" Week

The Colby South End Coalition (CSEC) presents the second-annual week-long program dedicated to strengthening bonds between Colby and Waterville. "Burst the Bubble, Build a Bridge" week begins Sunday, April 23, with a "Do-it-Yourself Fair" at the Alfond Youth Center and wraps up Saturday, April 29, with Colby Cares Day, a Colby Volunteer Center program.

Student organizers have packed the week with activities and discussions, both on Mayflower Hill and in town. The schedule includes a talk about growing up in Waterville by Rhea Cote, author of Wednesday's Child, at Jorgensen's; a panel discussion with Mayor Paul LePage, Colby President William Adams, and others, at Colby; as well as more casual opportunities for Waterville residents and Colby students to mix, such as a historical tour of Waterville and the A Cappella Ice Cream Social at the REM Center.

The CSEC works to educate students about the city in which they live and increase awareness about opportunities for civic engagement, volunteer work, social life, and long-term settlement in Waterville.
