On Saturday, March 17, the Colby Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Associate Professor of Music Jonathan Hallstrom, will perform its first concert of the spring season. The concert program will include Mozart’s Symphony No. 41, also known as the "Jupiter" symphony, and Celebratory Overture by Peter Re9;, professor of music emeritus. Flutist Elyssa Ford, a sophomore from Eastland, Texas, will perform Charles Griffes’s Poem for flute and orchestra. Pianist Natalie McKechnie, a first-year student from Stowe, Vt., will perform the first movement of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21 (K. 467).
