Pianist Cheryl Tschanz will perform a concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 13, to dedicate Colbys new Baldwin concert grand piano. The concert, part of the 1999-2000 Music at Colby concert series, will be in the colleges Given Auditorium of the Bixler Art and Music Center. Admission is free and the public is welcome.
Tschanz will perform music by Chopin, Liszt, Mendelssohn and Schumann. Edward R. Goldberg, a 1959 graduate of Colby and resident of Newton, Mass., donated the Baldwin concert grand piano.
Tschanz, who made her major orchestral debut with the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra at the age of 11, has performed throughout the United States, Canada, France, Italy and Finland. She also has performed in New Yorks Lincoln Center and Carnegie Recital Hall. She is an adjunct assistant professor of music and teaches piano at Colby.
