The Indigo Girls, a popular folk-rock group, will perform at Colby College in the Wadsworth Gymnasium of the Harold Alfond Athletic Center on Friday, April 21 at 9 p.m.
Over the last ten years the Atlanta-based duo of Amy Ray and Emily Saliers has sold more than seven million albums worldwide and earned six Grammy Award nominations. The Indigo Girls many albums include Rites of Passage, Shaming of the Sun, and their newest release, Come On Now Social. The two have dedicated much of their time to the awareness of issues such as womens rights, protection of the environment, gay and lesbian rights, and gun control. The Indigo Girls have toured with the Lilith Fair, a concert celebration of women and music, and have collaborated with artists such as Sheryl Crow, Ani DiFranco, Bonnie Raitt and R.E.M.
