"God's Generation," a gospel choir from New York City, will perform at Colby College in Waterville from 7-10 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11. The event, which also will feature Colby's own "Sounds of Gospel" ensemble, is in Lorimer Chapel and is open to the public free of charge.
"God's Generation" was started in 1996 by Junior Fountain. The singing group has grown from five original members to a full-sized gospel choir that has toured the eastern United States, performing with some of the greatest gospel choirs in the country. Television and radio appearances led to the choir's first recording earlier this year.
The Colby performance is sponsored by the Colby student group Sounds of Gospel, the Dean of Students/Intercultural Affairs and the Colby's Office of Admissions and Financial Aid.
