R. Laurence Moore, chair of the American studies program at Cornell University and co-author of The Godless Constitution (Norton 1996), will speak at Colby College in Waterville at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11. Moore's talk is titled "Our Godless Constitution and the Politics of the Christian Coalition." The lecture will be in Lovejoy 215 and the event is open to the public free of charge. A reception will be held afterward.

In his book The Godless Constitution: The Case against Religious Correctness Moore, the Howard A. Newman Professor of American Studies at Cornell, challenges the agenda and beliefs of the Christian Coalition. He also wrote Selling God, about the marketing of religion.
